Whale Shark

These gentle creatures are the worlds largest fish. It’s thought that less than 10% of whale sharks survive to adulthood, but those that do can live up to 150. Wow!

Megalodon

This famous prehistoric shark ruled the seas from about 17 million years ago up to almost three million years ago. It is now extinct and is an example that some animals can’t adapt to changing environments, even though their bite could crush a car!

Blue Whale

The largest animals to have ever lived on earth, blue whales can grow longer than three buses and can be heavier than three lorries. Now that’s heavy!

Killer Whale

These predators hunt everything from fish to walruses. They have around 45 teeth which are shaped for ripping and tearing up their prey. Ouch!

These cold-blooded animals are covered in scales, breathe with gills, and hatch from eggs. These fish are one of the oldest species of fish left on the planet, they have been around for millions of years. Now that’s old!

Penguins

It is impossible for penguins to fly because they have flippers instead of wings, but they are excellent swimmers. Plus, the black and white colouring of these animals is for camouflage. Who knew?

Sealion

Sealions are skilful hunters, and enjoy a varied seafood diet of small prey such as herring, anchovies, crabs and squid, and they swallow their meals whole. Impressive!

Green Turtle

Green sea turtles are one of the world’s largest species of turtle. They are have a strong, tear-drop shape shell, called a ‘carapace’, which cover most of their body, except for their head and four flippers. Fascinating!

Stingray

These guys are pretty unique as they have no bones in their body and their skeleton is made up of flexible cartilage, which is the bendy stuff that your ears and nose are made from. Cool!

Mantarays

Manta Rays are flat-bodied fish and are related to sharks. They are not dangerous because they are not aggressive nor have venomous sting. Check out these friendly creatures!
